For those of you that feel like you’re stuck in a rut right now and you want something more for your life, this is for you.

This post will show you the necessary steps you need to make to start making a change and seeing the difference in your life from today.

1) Patience

Yeah, we’ve all heard the saying that patience is a virtue and good things come to those who wait…but how many of us actually practice that?

In a reality where everything is designed around being faster, how can we be patient?

Let’s start off with the definition of patience, right out of the dictionary:

The capacity to accept or tolerate delay, problems, or suffering without becoming annoyed or anxious.

Oxford Dictionary

So, if we look at this a little closer, we come across the word ‘anxious’.

I think a huge part of patience comes in trusting that something good is coming your way, and you need not be anxious.

Letting go and really abandoning yourself to that trust of something greater than you – be that the Universe, God, energy or whatever you believe in.

That is where your patience will start to grow.

How else can we practice patience?

This is gonna sound ironic, but the trick is to make yourself wait. That coffee you’re desperate to drink in the morning? Leave it on the counter (with a coaster to keep it warm!).

Impatient to see a friend? Arrive 10 minutes earlier and practice the art of nothingness.

By forcing yourself just a few moments a day, to actually have to wait for something instead of receiving instant gratification, you’re setting yourself up for success.

When you’re trying to manifest something in your life, it really cannot be rushed. If you go with the thought that everything in it’s own time, situations will feel easier and more pleasant.

2) Meditate/visualize

We often leave meditation to the gurus, bypassing it as something too difficult for us ordinary folks to achieve.

If you think about it though, you’re meditating when you’re staring blankly into space, seemingly ‘thinking of nothing’.

Meditation is nothing more than consciously trying to achieve that very state.

A simple exercise that you can do to begin meditating is just to take time out from your busy day to listen to your body and draw attention to your breath.

As you focus on your breathing, you’ll notice that your thoughts automatically start to slow down – which is when you may start visualizing what it is that you want or need.

When you visualize, do so simply like you would daydream as a child, really live the moment as if it were already there. Hold whatever you desire, as if it were already yours.

2) Be at peace with your present

When I’m practising manifestation and feel like I’m coming across a block, I stop for a minute and tend to analyse myself.

Usually when this happens, it’s because I’m stressed out with my present, with my now.

Let me tell you something: you can change your future, but you can’t change what you’re living right now, this instant.

You have the ability to shift things your direction.

BUT if you’re hung up on the negative emotion that the present is bringing you, how will you have any space for positive thoughts about the future?

Only when you fully accept and acknowledge where you currently are, do you open yourself for the abundance you need and desire.

How can we be at peace with our present?

For me, there are two essential ways to make this happen.

  1. Take a look at how far you’ve come in life so far, all the knowledge you’ve accumulated and give yourself a pat on the back
  2. Be grateful for all that you have already, whether physical or emotional

So, with the first point, what I want to say is look back at yourself a few years ago. What skill have you developed that you had no idea how to do? In what way have you gotten better in your personal relationships?

Remember, we are constantly evolving, there is no way that you haven’t made progress.

Secondly, gratefulness, which leads me onto number three.

3) Gratitude

Speak to any life coach, or spiritual leader about prosperity and abundance and chances are they will all tell you the same thing:

Acknowledging the good that you already have in your life is the foundation for all abundance

Eckhart Tolle

Why is this so? Well, I believe that it largely has to do with the vibrational level that you’re on when you give thanks for what you have.

Think of the universe for a second as a source of energy that gives and we are given. If all we do is take, how do we expect to receive?

In fact, when you want to truly manifest something to happen in your life, this is perhaps the most important step to the Law of Attraction.

Perhaps in life we are too used to complaining, that it becomes such a habit we fail to see the beauty right in front of us.

How can we be more thankful?

Start by taking a few minutes a day to look around in your home, what are you thankful is there? What about your relationship?

I promise, the more you start to do this, the more it will become almost second nature.

A dear friend of mine was always a believer in the little things in life. Think: sunsets, birds singing, the breeze on the back of your neck.

It doesn’t matter what you choose to be grateful for, just be grateful. You can also write it down in a journal frequently – it’s quite nice to look on at the end of the year.

4) Forgiveness

Wow – maybe you weren’t expecting that in this list.

Allow me to explain why I’ve included it. The same way that we accumulate negative energy by complaining about what we lack in, we also accumulate holding onto mental rancor we no longer need.

Have you ever heard the expression, forgive someone – not for them, but for you.

Something magical-like happens when we forgive people and situations of our past. We feel a release, a new found openess to what life has to offer.

And, seeing as this post is about attracting all you desire – that’s exactly the point, right?

We can’t move on to bigger and greater things if we still have rancores weighing us down.

Think about a climber going up a mountain – he will get there much more efficiently if he has a lighter backpack!

How do we practice forgiveness?

Well, I think we have to start by accepting that the person who hurt us, was the only version of themselves that they could offer in that moment. A big way to practice this is to delve a little into your childhood and investigate feelings of blame, shame and hurt.

When we look at a situation from the point of view that we cannot have changed it, we can allow ourselves to let it go.

If you practice meditation – or even just zone out at some point in the day, pick one thing or person you were mad with, sit with the emotion you still feel, then slowly start to let it go.

It’s a little like holding a cord that unravels as you let go of the hurt.

Now you have less baggage on your journey to manifestation.

5) Kindness to others

There’s a phrase that has stuck with me throughout life and it’s this:

Treat others as you would like to be treated.

Sure, it’s from the bible, but it’s just so timeless it can be used in everyday life even now.

We really raise the bar for ourselves when we start to do little acts of kindess, just because. Sometimes something seemingly so little such as lending an ear to a friend who’s upset, to letting someone go before you at the checkout, can make a difference.

We also learn something important in doing this: not to expect immediate gratification in return. You know you’re doing it right when they’re just thoughtless, instinctive actions.

6) Go out and do it

So this is my last point and I really just want to take a moment to round up this post here. It’s absolutely useless that you apply the above tips to getting what you want in life, if you then sit back and do nothing.

What I mean is, you need to work at whatever goal you’re trying to achieve.

You wouldn’t sew a seed, then leave it for months without watering, expecting it to fruit would you?

Take baby steps in the direction you want to go. And if you don’t know where you’re heading, that’s okay too – as long as you’re moving.

Don’t get stuck on thinking things through too hard so much that you forget to act.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post, please share if you did!
